Some recordings featuring Mick Hamer…

To a wild rose is the tune that Mick Hamer played in the film Stormy Monday. It was written by the American classical composer Edward MacDowell and rearranged by Mick for the film. The version that Mick plays here was recorded live au Bar Lafayette in Paris in 1989.

Days of wine and roses was recorded live at the Havana restaurant in Brighton on 3 November 2007. Andy Woon is on trumpet and Gerry Higgins on bass.

The Hoagy Carmichael tune Skylark has Jo Kimber on vocals and Mick Hamer on piano

The Victor Young tune My foolish heart is a studio recording made in 2010. Mick is on electric piano, George Levy on alto and Godfrey Sheppard on bass.

Just Friends was recorded live at The Albion, Hove’s premier afternoon jazz spot in 2011. Mick plays electric piano on the tune, Al Nicholls is on tenor and Nick McGuigan on bass.

It’s the talk of the town features Terry Giles on clarinet and is taken from the Terry Giles Jazzband’s CD Jazz at the Cavendish.
